The 60th anniversary is the Diamond anniversary in contemporary terms. So why not visit a diamond mine like the Diavik or at least visit Yellow Knife? Or maybe the train from Vancouver to Banff? Or a drive to one of Canada’s wonderful bed and breakfast inns for a quiet weekend?

If you’re thinking of coming south, Aspen Colorado is beautiful, as is Yellowstone National Park and Santa Fe or Taos in New Mexico are good places to visit. Or if it suits you better rent a cabin on a lake or near the beach in Maine.
