Wedding Anniversary Invitations for Golden and Silver Anniversary by Sarah Porter
Wedding Anniversary Invitations to Celebrate Your Special Anniversary!
Celebrating a wedding anniversary is always a happy time. With divorce rates continuing to be high all over the world, being able to send out wedding anniversary invitations to celebrate a couple’s commitment to one another over a period of time is rare and very pleasant responsibility. However, choosing those Anniversary Invitations might be a bit of a challenge, especially if you’re relatively new to party planning. Here are a few tips for choosing the right Personalized Wedding Anniversary Invitations for your event.
Use Themes for Your Wedding Party Invitations
Today, many party planners choose themes. If a couple has been married since the 1960’s, for example, you might choose that decade as the theme of your party. You could play music from that time period, decorate using peace signs or psychedelic colors, and create a time line of events from those years on the table cloths. That’s just one theme idea. There are plenty of others and choosing a theme for a wedding anniversary party can be fun and easy if you just keep in mind the interests and personalities of the guests of honor.
More importantly, once you’ve selected that theme it should be reflected in the wedding party invitation you choose. If you’re have a casual 1960’s themed party, you certainly don’t want to send out formal Golden Anniversary Invitations- that would send the wrong message to your guests about what to expect. Always keep your theme in mind when choosing Wedding Anniversary Invitations.
Consider Other Wedding Anniversary Invitation Factors
Besides the theme, you should also consider a few other factors. One of the biggest is going to be cost. You want to choose affordable marriage anniversary cards that look good but don’t cost a fortune. Throwing one of these parties can be expensive so you’ll want to save money in anyway that you can. One way you can’t save money is by substituting phone calls or emails for mailed anniversary announcements. Etiquette dictates that the invitations be mailed, usually two weeks in advance to give guests time to make arrangements and to RSVP if necessary. However, you can always follow up with guests a few days prior to the event with a phone call or email, especially if they have not responded to the mailed wedding anniversary invitations.
You may also want to consider whether or not to invite children or to allow guests at the wedding anniversary party. If you do not want children to attend, make sure no children are invited. Deliberately address the wedding anniversary party invitation only to the adults. Make sure guests RSVP with the number of people attending and contact them if it appears they plan to bring their children. As far as guests go, if you don’t mind allowing invited people to bring a date then address the invitations to the person and guest. Otherwise, leave off the “and guest” part. Don’t be surprised if some people ignore that part of your wedding anniversary invitations and bring dates anyway.
