Wedding Gifts Year
Do wedding gifts have to be returned to the giver if a divorce happens with-in a year of the marriage?
I know you have one year to get out thank you cards for gifts, but if you recieve gifts and get a divorce before 1 year is up, do the gifts have to be return to the giver?
In most instances, I would say the wedding gifts are the couple’s to keep and divide as they will. However, if you received something expensive such as a trip to take together, and you obviously will not be making use of it, it might be nice to return this to the gift-giver rather than just sitting around and letting it go to waste. Maybe they could use a nice vacation with someone. I’d say it would be a matter of judgement on whether the gift will be entirely wasted by going to one or the other.

Handmade Silver Daisy Chain Necklace $199 This necklace was inspired by my daughter making a daisy chain one summer’s day last year. I just had to find a way of making it in silver! Each link is connected by a tiny ring in it’s ’stem’ which the next flower is threaded through. It is stunning on, delicate and pretty, and looks beautiful with the simplest of dresses and your hair up. I heat and cool a sheet of sterling silver before putting it through my wonderful rolling machine in the basement of my shop. Alongside the silver I put a sheet of sandpaper which impresses it’s pattern on to the silver leaving the delicate texture you see here. I then handcut the daisies out of the sheet, file the edges and then heat the silver once again. The I dome the daisies and add the little ball of gold into the centre, and solder on the stems with the rings. The necklace is aprroximately 16-17 inches or 40-43cm long. All elements, apart from the gold centres, are sterling silver. Each flower is approximately 0.8cm wide. Your necklace will arrive in a smart silver and black box which closes with a magnetic snap fastener. Inside is black padded velvet style covered foam. Please note that because every part is handmade there will be slight variations from the photos. If you would like to be specific about the length please let me know – it’s no problem to make it to a precise length. |

In the U.S., the desire for membership within the melting pot , marriages outside one’s ethnic group, movement to the suburbs away from the old communities where customs and traditions were once strong, further weakened the link. Although the purpose and meaning may have been lost and forgotten, the oczepiny ceremony (the unveiling) is still the mainstay of almost every wedding where the bride declares Polish heritage. Many Polish American communities still reenact the harvest celebrations, reminding themselves of their ancestors’ reverence for the grains and gifts of bread.
